Join our Team! Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, has the following Preschool Teacher opening at our Dover Morton Ave location, based in the Dover-Foxcroft area:
Location: Dover Foxcroft, Maine
40 hours per week, 42 weeks per year (benefits eligible including 14 paid holidays)
Penquis Child Development will pay for newly hired staff to obtain appropriate credentials or continued educational opportunities. This position is responsible for preschool age children (3-5 years old) in a Head Start setting, following an evidence-based curriculum, implementing developmentally appropriate activities, including individual prescriptive programs for children with special needs. This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field with 36 credit hours in ECE and two years paid experience in a childcare setting. (Appropriate practicum experience may be substituted for two years paid experience in an early education/childcare setting). Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education preferred. If you do not have the required qualifications, Penquis Child Development can support newly hired staff in a professional development plan to acquire the appropriate credentials.
The starting rate for the Teacher position is $19.55 per hour and additional compensation will be given consideration with relevant experience. Eligible upon hire, new employees in our Early Child Care programs who work 24-40 hours per week, will receive a $200 monthly incentive.
