Penquis Helping Families One Visit at a Time
Penquis continues to grow and evolve in 2019. We are launching an innovative program with a new approach to serving children and families who are in the care of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). The program focuses on the strengths of families and the unique needs of children in order to promote successful reunification.
Our team will provide intensive home and community-based therapeutic skill building to parents, with a focus on empowerment, empathy, responsiveness and active parenting while maintaining child safety.
We are looking for two clinically licensed Visit Coaching Supervisors (VCSs) and six bachelors level Visit Coaching Workers (VCWs). This team will work closely with DHHS to meet the needs of families. Employees will utilize on-the-job specialized training to ensure that families and children experience positive outcomes.
This management position is responsible for oversight of the program. The successful candidate will provide direct supervision to a team of Visit Coaching Workers (VCWs). The Visit Coaching Supervisors (VCS) will be trained in an empirically supported visit coaching model and assist the VCWs with implementation. Additionally, this position will: assist in maintaining quality personalized care given to these families at their time of highest need; work with DHHS and a Penquis psychologist consultant to create goals that assist families in gaining needed knowledge and skills to effectively parent; and ensure quality documentation across the program. The VCS will create a positive culture for the program, working to sustain productive collaboration and partnerships with family, DHHS, and resource parents. To perform these duties, the successful candidates must have strong leadership abilities, interpersonal effectiveness, organization skills, and computer knowledge.
The Visit Coaching Supervisors must: hold a clinical license (LMSW, LCSW, LMSW-CC); have previous documented experience working with children and families; have reliable, insured transportation and have proof of automobile insurance. The right candidates will preferably have previous experience with clinical and programmatic supervision, in-home services, and child protective services. Night and weekend hours may be necessary.
