Penquis, a social services agency serving Penobscot, Piscataquis and Knox Counties for over 50 years, is seeking a full-time Visit Coaching Worker (40 hours/week, 52 weeks/year; benefit eligible). As a Visit Coaching Worker (VCW) you will focus on reunification of families providing therapeutic skill building to parents, with an emphasis on empowerment, empathy, responsiveness and active parenting while maintaining child safety.
The successful candidate will provide home and community-based visit coaching to assist families in gaining needed skills and tools tailored to their children’s individual needs including the supervision of all parent-child interactions. The VCW will be trained in a national visit coaching model and receive supervision from a licensed clinician. The successful candidate will work effectively as part of a team, interacting and sustaining positive collaborations and partnerships with families, DHHS, and resource parents. This position requires evening and weekend hours, travel and the transportation of children.
The VCW must hold a Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field; have previous documented experience working with children and families; have reliable, insured transportation with proof of automobile insurance. To perform these duties, you must have strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills. Previous experience with DHHS is preferred.
Penquis offers an excellent benefits package which includes 12 paid holidays and vacation time. The pay range for this position is $17.55 – 24.58 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
